Between Bold Vision and Small Steps: Navigating the Dilemmas of Sustainable Action
Sept 17th @ 9:40 - 11:00am EDT / 15:40 - 17:00 CEST
Many people in the agile community want to contribute to greater sustainability and regeneration – yet tensions often arise between moral ambition and practical reality. In this interactive online workshop, we will explore two key dilemmas: the belief in small steps and the growing sense that they are not enough in the face of global crises – and our engagement within a profit-oriented system that we do not fundamentally change, even though we long for alternatives. We will share initiatives from the Sustain-Agility association – some designed to be system-changing, others intentionally low-threshold. Drawing on Rudger Bregman’s concept of moral ambition, we will reflect on our scope for action between realism and vision. Together, we will develop ideas for thinking more boldly while acting concretely.
