From Practices to Capacities: Inner Development for Agile Teams

July 10th @ 10 - 10:20am EST / 4 - 4:20pm CEST

Agility has been a powerful response to complexity. But today’s challenges confront us with tensions that cannot be addressed by better processes alone. In this talk, I explore three tensions many agile teams are already facing:

- developing inner capacities vs. changing structures and processes

- optimizing for customer value vs. taking responsibility for the wider ecosystem delivering

- short-term results vs. thinking in longer time horizons

These are not problems to solve, but polarities to navigate. Drawing on the Inner Development Goals (IDGs), I highlight inner capacities such as self-awareness, systems thinking, and long-term orientation that help individuals and teams move more consciously between these perspectives.
