Keynote:

Don’t be an Idiot

9th July @ 8:15 - 9am

We live in a world that wants us to pick sides. Left or right. Growth or sustainability. Move fast or move carefully. But the most important technology humans ever invented wasn't designed to resolve polarities, it was designed to hold them. That technology is consensus. I'll take you from ancient Greece (where a psychedelic mystery cult may have fuelled the birth of democracy) to modern standards development, where reaching agreement typically takes three to seven years. At the Green Software Foundation, we built an open-source process called the 4Ds that uses AI-facilitated consensus to get that down to months. As AI handles more of the doing, the human work that remains is deciding, together, what we actually want. AI-facilitated consensus might be the most important application of AI we develop. Not AI that decides for us. AI that helps us decide together, faster.
